Ohio had a population of 11,269,665 in 2004, of whom 1,282,282 lacked health insurance for the entire calendar year.  This represents 11.4% of Ohio's population.
In addition, Ohio ranked number 9 out of the 50 states & DC in terms of its percent uninsured.  In the population, 74.7%
had private insurance such as employer provided health insurance, retiree health coverage, Medigap, and direct purchases such as Blue Cross/Blue Shield.

100-499 employees, 10-24 employees.
In terms of the uninsured, Ohio excelled in the following areas relative to other states for the following socioeconomic characteristics
Widowed, White only, Some college but no degree, Separated, Married,
Male, High school graduate - high school diploma or equivalent, High school dropout, 65 plus, 45 to 54 years,
15 to 24 years, $90,000 to $99,999, $60,000 to $69,999, $40,000 to $49,999, $100,000 and over.
